WebDAV
Connect to onmeil.eu Files as a network drive via WebDAV.
With WebDAV, you can connect the Files feature in onmeil.eu as a network drive on your computer. This lets you open, edit, and save files directly from apps like Finder on Mac or File Explorer on Windows.
App password required
To connect, you need to use an app password instead of your regular password. This keeps your account more secure.
How to connect
On Mac (Finder)
- Open Finder and choose Go → Connect to Server from the menu
- Enter the address:
https://dav.onmeil.eu/files/ - Click Connect
- Enter your full onmeil.eu email address as the username
- Use an app password as the password
- Click Connect
On Windows (File Explorer)
- Open File Explorer
- Right-click This PC in the left menu
- Select Add a network location
- Select Choose a custom network location and click Next
- Enter the address:
https://dav.onmeil.eu/files/ - Click Next
- Select Log on with a different user name
- Enter your full onmeil.eu email address as the username
- Use an app password as the password
- Give the network location a name and click Next → Finish
Limitations
The WebDAV connection has a few limitations compared to the regular Files experience:
- Max file size: 2 GB for uploads
- File names: Avoid special characters for best compatibility
- Speed: The connection may be slower than local files
Tip
For larger files or faster access, we recommend using download links for sharing instead of WebDAV.
Troubleshooting
"Access denied" or "Invalid password"
Check that you're using a valid app password and not your regular password.
"Cannot connect to server"
Check that you have an internet connection and that the address is typed correctly: https://dav.onmeil.eu/files/
Slow connection
WebDAV can be slower than local files due to network transfer. For large files, it may be better to download the file, make your changes, and then upload it again.
