IMAP and SMTP

Set up onmeil.eu in email clients like Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Outlook, and the Android apps.

Automatic setup

Most email apps detect onmeil.eu automatically once you enter your email address. All you need is an app password instead of your login password.

App passwords

To connect external email clients, always use an app password, not your regular password. This gives you better security and control.

Create an app password

Go to App passwords to create a new password for your email client.

Automatic setup

Most modern email clients can detect the correct settings on their own:

1. Open your email client and choose "Add account"
2. Enter your full onmeil.eu address and your app password
3. The app finds the server settings automatically

Manual server settings

If automatic setup doesn't work, you can use these settings:

Incoming (IMAP): imap.onmeil.eu, port 993, SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.onmeil.eu, port 465, SSL/TLS
Username: Your full onmeil.eu address
Password: An app password (not your login password)

Setup for specific clients

Apple Mail (Mac and iPhone)

Most Apple devices detect the settings automatically. If not:

1. Open the iPhone Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts → Add Account (on the iPhone, not in onmeil.eu)
2. Choose "Other" → "Add Mail Account"
3. Fill in your email address and app password

Mozilla Thunderbird

1. Open Account Setup (or File → New → Existing Email Account)
2. Enter your name, onmeil.eu address, and app password
3. Thunderbird finds the servers automatically

Microsoft Outlook (Windows)

1. File → Add Account
2. Enter your onmeil.eu address and click "Connect"
3. Choose IMAP if you're asked
4. Use your app password as the password

Android (Gmail app, Samsung Email)

1. Open the email app → Add account → Other / IMAP
2. Enter your onmeil.eu address and app password
3. The app finds the server settings automatically

Calendar and contacts

For calendar and contacts, use:

• CalDAV: https://dav.onmeil.eu/calendar/
• CardDAV: https://dav.onmeil.eu/addressbook/

Use your email address as the username and an app password as the password.
