Share an event publicly
Want to share an event with people who don't have an onmeil.eu account — maybe an open house, a volunteer event, or a course? You can create a shareable link that anyone can open in their browser and respond to.
How to create a shareable link
- Open the event in the calendar
- Find the Shareable link section in the event panel
- Click Get shareable link
- While we create it, Creating… is shown
- When the link is ready, click Copy link and paste it wherever you want to share it (email, chat, website)
You'll see the confirmation Copied!.
What the recipient sees
When someone clicks the link, a read-only page opens with:
- The event's title and description
- Date and time
- Location (and a map, if you've added an address)
- A video meeting link if the event has a video meeting attached
- Buttons to respond (Going / Maybe / Declined) — no account required
Helper text on the page: "Anyone with the link can respond, no account needed".
Number of responses
On your side of the link, we show how many people have responded: "{N} responses". Click to see who responded and with which status (Going / Maybe / Declined).
Expiration date
The shareable link has an automatic expiration date — shown as Expires {date} on the link. After it expires, visitors get a This link has expired message.
If you need to extend or change the expiration, create a new shareable link (the old one stops working at the same time).
Revoke the link
Want to stop sharing before it expires? Click Revoke next to the link. You'll get a confirmation, and the link stops working immediately — anyone who has it will get an error message.
Difference between a shareable link and a direct invitation
| Shareable link | Direct invitation (email) | |
|---|---|---|
| Recipient needs an onmeil.eu account | No | No — but they get an email |
| You know who has the link | No (anyone who gets it) | Yes |
| You can grant specific access | No (everyone gets the same) | Yes |
| Can revoke per person | — | Yes |
| Requires you to know the email address | No | Yes |
Use a shareable link for open events and when you don't know all the invitees in advance.
Tips
- Set a short expiration date for sensitive content
- Revoke links you no longer need
- Combine it with the event description — it's the first thing guests see when they click, so make it clear what's happening
