Snooze email
Some emails are better dealt with later — maybe when you get to work, this evening, or next week. The Snooze feature lets you temporarily hide an email from your inbox and bring it back to the top when the time is right.
How to snooze an email
- Open the email, or hover over its row in the list
- Click the Snooze icon (a clock) in the toolbar
- Choose when it should come back:
| Preset | When |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | One hour from now |
| This evening at 6 PM | Today at 18:00 |
| Tomorrow at 8 AM | Tomorrow at 08:00 |
| Next Monday at 8 AM | The coming Monday morning |
You'll get a confirmation: "Snoozed until {time}".
Where does the snoozed email go?
It moves out of your inbox and goes on hold. When the time comes, it pops back up at the top of your inbox — as if it had just arrived.
You can view snoozed emails in a separate view if you want an overview before they come back (check the side menu).
Cancel a snooze
Want the email back in your inbox before then? Open the snoozed email and click Cancel snooze, or select it and use the snooze icon again.
Tips
- Use snooze to clear out your inbox — push anything that doesn't need action right now to later, so you can see more clearly what's actually urgent
- Combine it with filters to auto-snooze certain types of email (for example, weekly newsletters until Saturday morning)
- Snoozing works independently per device — the reminder shows up in the browser where you have onmeil.eu open
