CardDAV

With CardDAV, you can sync your contacts between onmeil.eu and other devices such as Apple Contacts, Thunderbird, or Android phones.

How to set up CardDAV

To use CardDAV, you need an app password. This is a special password that's used only for third-party apps and keeps your main password safe.

Tips

Create an app password under App connections in onmeil.eu Settings before you continue.

CardDAV settings

• Server address: https://dav.onmeil.eu/addressbook/
• Username: Your full onmeil.eu email address
• Password: An app password you've created
• Port: 443 (SSL)

Use with Apple devices

1. Open iPhone Settings → Contacts → Accounts (on the iPhone, not in onmeil.eu)
2. Choose Add Account > Other > Add CardDAV Account
3. Enter the server address, your email address, and the app password
4. Tap Next to finish

Use with Thunderbird

1. Install the CardBook add-on in Thunderbird
2. Open CardBook and choose Add a new address book
3. Choose CardDAV as the type
4. Enter the server address, your email address, and the app password
5. Click OK to connect

Use with Android (DAVx5)

1. Install DAVx5 from Google Play
2. Open the app and choose CardDAV
3. Enter your email address and the app password
4. The server address is filled in automatically
5. Tap Next to finish

Your CardDAV address is personal and contains all of your contacts. Syncing happens automatically when you add or change contacts.

Why isn't syncing working?

• Check that the app password is correct
• Make sure you're using the full server address with https://
• Check your internet connection

How do I get more contacts to sync? CardDAV automatically syncs all contacts in your default address book.
