Pending invitations
When someone shares a file or folder with you on onmeil.eu, you have to accept the invitation before the content becomes available under Shared with me. That way you can be sure you've seen what's being added to your account.
How you see new invitations
When you have one or more invitations you haven't handled yet, a New invitations section appears at the top of Files. Each row shows:
- Who shared it (the sender)
- The name of the file or folder
- The access level you get (Can view or Can edit)
You also get an email in your inbox notifying you about each invitation:
"{Sender} has invited you to view {name}." or "{Sender} has invited you to edit {name}."
Accept or decline
For each invitation in the list, you have two actions:
- Accept — the file appears under Shared with me and you can start using it
- Decline — the invitation is removed, and the sender is notified
You get a confirmation:
- "You accepted "{name}""
- "You declined "{name}""
When the file appears under Shared with me
Once you've accepted, you'll find the file in the left sidebar under Shared with me. You can use it right from there — open it, edit it (if you were given write access), or download it.
You'll also see a short description of the sharing context at the top: "You're viewing "{name}", which someone else shared with you — access: {access}."
If you change your mind
Want to remove a file you've accepted? The file's owner is still in control of it, but you can leave the share:
- Go to Shared with me
- Find the file
- Choose Leave share from the More actions menu (if available)
The file disappears from your Shared with me, but it stays with the owner.
If you declined by mistake
Declined invitations can't be restored — ask the sender to share it again.
Tips
- Check Files regularly — invitations can arrive without you noticing the notification in your inbox
- Decline invitations you're unsure about — if you don't know the sender or the file, it's safe to decline. The sender will be notified
