Aliases
An alias is an extra email address that's delivered to the same inbox as your main address. For example, you might have navn@onmeil.eu as your primary address, with kontakt@onmeil.eu, faktura@onmeil.eu or nyhetsbrev@onmeil.eu as aliases — they all land in the same inbox, but you can use different addresses for different purposes.
You'll find them under Settings → Identity → Aliases.
How many aliases do I have?
| Plan | Number of aliases |
|---|---|
| Free | 3 |
| Plus | 10 |
| Pro | 50 (can be split between @onmeil.eu and your own domain) |
The X / Y counter above the alias list shows how many of your quota you're using.
Create an alias
- Go to Settings → Identity → Aliases
- Type the name in the navn@onmeil.eu field
- Click Add
The alias is active immediately — email sent to that address is delivered straight to your inbox.
Use aliases smartly
kontakt@orhei@— a public contact address for your CV or websitefaktura@— for invoices from vendorsnyhetsbrev@— for newsletter sign-ups (easy to filter)random-streng@— for one-time use; throw the alias away if it gets abused
Remove an alias
- Go to Settings → Identity → Aliases
- Find the alias in the list
- Click the remove icon next to it
- Confirm
Once an alias is removed, email sent to that address will bounce.
Aliases on your own domain (Pro)
With a Pro subscription you can also have aliases on your own domain — for example kontakt@mittdomene.no, salg@mittdomene.no. These are created the same way once the domain is active.
See Custom domain for how to connect a domain.
Send from an alias
When you compose an email, the From field in the compose window shows all your addresses. Pick the alias you want to use as the sender for this email.
