Attachments
You can add attachments to the emails you send in two ways — from your computer, or straight from files you already have in onmeil.eu Files.
From your computer
- Start a new email (or open a draft)
- Click Upload file in the compose toolbar
- Pick the file in the dialog that opens
- The file appears as an attachment at the bottom of the email
You can add more files by clicking the button again, or by dragging them straight into the compose window.
From Files
If the file is already in onmeil.eu Files, you can attach it without uploading it again:
- Click From Files in the compose toolbar
- Browse to the file and select it
- The file is linked to the email
This is handy for sending large files you already have in Files — or for linking to shared folders.
Maximum size
25 MB per email in total. That's the sum of all attachments, not per file.
If you try to add more than 25 MB, you'll get an error and won't be able to send until you remove something.
Large files? Use Files
Need to share something bigger than 25 MB? Upload the file to onmeil.eu Files and share it from there — you can invite the recipient by email with a link. That way there's no size limit (beyond your plan's quota).
Remove an attachment
Click the × icon next to the attachment in the email. It's removed right away.
Receiving attachments
Emails you receive with attachments show a paperclip icon in the list, and the attachments are listed at the bottom when you open the email.
You can:
- Download — save it to your computer
- Preview — for images, PDFs, and some other formats, view it right in the browser
- Save to Files — copy the attachment to onmeil.eu Files for later use
Security and virus scanning
Incoming attachments are scanned for viruses automatically. If we find anything, the attachment is blocked and you get a warning — the message is still delivered, but the attachment isn't available.
Tips
- Use Files sharing for large files. Links via onmeil.eu Files have no 25 MB limit, and the recipient gets a better preview than with an attachment
- Use Files sharing for files you send to the same person often — one link can be updated without sending a new email every time
- Check the attachment's name before you send — a clear file name helps the recipient understand what it is
